I was born and raised in Rural Hall, NC and I graduated from North Forsyth High School (go Vikings!). I attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!!) where I earned a BA in Secondary Math Education. I have wanted to be a math teacher for as long as I can remember.
After teaching for 3 1/2 years at Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, NC, my husband and I moved to Stokes County and I have been at South Stokes High School since 2001. We have since built a house in Rural Hall, where we are raising our son and daughter.
Since teaching at South, I have been the Math Department Chair since 2005, and I was elected Teacher of the Year for South for the 2004 -2005 and the 2017-2018 school years.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my kids play sports, hanging out with friends.
